Tim Luce joined the group on 15 February 2018 as Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to Thorn, Tim was the Group Chief Operating Officer at Courts Asia Ltd. From 2014 to 2015, Tim was the Group Chief Marketing Officer and CEO of Courts Malaysia Shd Bhd. He was previously the CEO of Courts Singapore Pty Ltd (“CSPL”) from 2013 to 2014, and Group Director of Retail from 2011 to 2013, overseeing retail commercial activities in Singapore and Malaysia. He joined CSPL in 2011 as Country Director of Singapore.
Tim’s experience in the retail industry spans 20 years. He was previously Managing Director from 1994 to 2007 of Lenteur Pty Ltd and General Manager from 2007 to 2008 for Lifestyle Appliances’ New South Wales operations in Australia, before assuming the position of General Manager at Goldmark Pty Ltd from 2008 to 2010, and then General Manager at Lovisa Pty Ltd from 2010 to 2011.
Peter Forsberg joined the group in September 2015 as Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to Thorn, Peter had been the Group CFO of St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA) comprising St Vincent’s six public and eight private hospitals, aged care, research and associated medical services.
Peter is an experienced CFO and senior finance executive having worked in healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, FMCG, professional services and in publicly listed and private equity owned companies in Australia and internationally. Before joining SVHA, Peter held CFO roles at DCA Group Ltd, Blake Dawson Waldron and Goodman Fielder.
Peter has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from University of Reading in the United Kingdom and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. Peter is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and FINSIA, as well as an associate at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Wendy Yip joined the group in December 2015 as Chief Risk Officer and leads Thorn Group's Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit function.
Wendy has over 17 years’ experience as a risk and capital management professional, across advisory firms and major financial institutions. At Deloitte since 2010, she has been a senior risk advisor in the national Risk Advisory practice, and prior to this, she has been with PricewaterhouseCoopers, ING Direct and Commonwealth Bank, in senior technical positions involving credit risk analytics, capital management and regulatory advisory.
Wendy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from University of New South Wales, a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance from University of Melbourne and Master in Applied Statistics from Macquarie University.
Tania Wojtowicz joined Thorn Group in July 2016 and is the General Manager, People and Capability.
Tania brings over 15 years’ experience in Senior HR roles, leading teams and supporting businesses through complex cultural change and business transformations. Prior to joining Thorn, Tania was Senior HR Manager, Australia and New Zealand at Wolters Kluwer. Tania is an experienced manager and HR leader having held senior HR roles in ASX listed and privately owned companies across multiple industries including Financial Services, Insurance, Telecommunications, Professional Services and Publishing.
Tania is experienced in leading teams of HR professionals and driving the strategic HR agenda to deliver the full spectrum of people services including HR operations, strategic partnering, organisational development, talent and safety.
Richard Ansell joined the Thorn Group in April 2018 as General Manager for Radio Rentals and leads the commercial activities relating to store operations, marketing and merchandise.
Richard has over 30 years’ experience in the retail industry, combining a broad skill-set across general management, e-commerce, buying & planning, visual merchandising, property and store development. Richard is an experienced retail leader of large scale/multi-site commercial operations and projects within both the volume family fashion and home furnishing sectors in Australia and internationally.
In addition to holding senior management roles in a number of large organisations including Freedom Furniture, IKEA and British Home Stores, Richard holds a Master in Business Administration from Stirling University.
Phil Chaplin joined Thorn in March 2016 to focus on the continued growth and development of Thorn Business Finance.
Phil has nearly 20 years of experience in the finance industry, combining a broad skill-set across general management, sales leadership, operational excellence and strategic planning, with an in-depth knowledge of financial products and services.
Phil has held senior management roles in a number of bank and private equity backed financers across Australia and New Zealand, and brings to Thorn considerable experience in originating and developing partnerships and customer relationships. Phil holds formal qualifications in business management, and has a proven track record of driving business growth.
