John Hughes
CEO and Managing Director
Prior to joining the Company, John was Managing Director of ASX listed Ruralco Holdings Limited until its merger with Tasmanian based Roberts Limited in 2006. He was previously Managing Director of Thorn EMI Rentals Australasia (“Thorn”) and led the reshaping of that company into a highly successful consumer electronics and financial services organisation.
Prior to Thorn he was Managing Director of Dominos Pizza Australia and has over 25 years experience as a senior executive in a number of leading Australian and international companies including Sharp Corporation, Competitive Foods and Grace Bros. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. John Hughes was appointed as a director on 3 November 2006.

Peter Eaton
Chief Financial Officer
Peter Eaton joined the company in 1999 and was the Company Finance Manager before assuming the role of Group Financial Controller in 2005 and the Positions of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary in August 2006. Peter has a detailed understanding of the business, the domestic rental market and its drivers and provides input in to key management decisions. Peter’s role encompasses Finance, Information Technology and Risk Management.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Sydney and is a member of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA).

James Marshall
General Manager – Radio Rentals & Rentlo
James Marshall joined the company in 1993 and held several frontline and senior management positions in the rental business before assuming the role of General Manager – Radio Rentals & Rentlo, in 2006.
James has extensive knowledge of the Rental & RTO industries and has been instrumental in reshaping and positioning Thorn’s rental brands for growth since listing in 2006.
James holds a diploma in Financial Services from Monash University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Management.

Andrea Rooke
General Manager – Human Resources
Andrea joined the Thorn Executive Team in March 2009. She has a Bachelor of Business degree with Distinction from the University of Technology Sydney and over 15 years experience in HR Management and M&A, mostly gained in small global technology companies.
Andrea has a passion for developing high performance organisations, is an accomplished facilitator, and has a track record of success in using technology to effectively deliver business focused programs in distributed organisations.

Ian Scott
General Manager – Financial Services
Ian joined the company in 2007 and has more than 30 years experience in the consumer credit industry. He has held positions with Optus, Inchcape Australia LTD, and Dept of Attorney General and Justice in NSW.
Ian is responsible for all aspects of credit approval and collections as well as the Cashfirst operation.

Antoine Laval
General Manager – Thorn Equipment Finance, Thorn Business Services
Antoine joined Thorn in 2011 and has 20 years experience across a variety of sales and management positions in both Australia and overseas. He spent the past 12 years in the Equipment Finance industry as divisional manager for a leader in Australian corporate finance, and in senior partner and director roles for successful finance broking firms. Antoine’s finance knowledge extends across multiple industries in the SME and corporate sectors.
He holds a Bachelor of Business and Finance, and a degree in Psychology from the Sorbonne University, France.

Don Coulthard
CEO – National Credit Management Limited
Don joined NCML in 2001 to take responsibility for the development and implementation of the company’s aggressive national growth strategy. Currently Don directly manages the contractual relationships with a number of government entities, statutory authorities and major companies. Don is very hands on in contract management, recognising the importance of delivering on the promises made in NCML’s tender submissions. Over the past several years NCML have gained a number of large, high profile clients.
